Dr. Lawal obtained his first degree from the College of Medicine, University of Ilorin and completed his residency at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. He also bagged a Master of Surgery (General Surgery) degree from the University of Edinburgh, UK.

He is a qualified Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.

He is a Consultant General Surgeon at Iwosan Lagoon Hospitals.
